Thad Raines called me from his home in "midstate" well actually Woodbury Tennessee (37190)
but people in Tennessee differentiate the Memphis area (west state), the Nashville area (midstate) and Knoxville (east-state).
His 6th Gen video iPod had a problem and it wasn't clear on the phone what the problem was. I had him send it in with my $40 labor charge so I could go through it. It arrived a few days later and I was able to determine he had a failed hard drive.
He decided to get a large capacity 120Gb drive as the replacement and I had it back on its way a day later.
The drive was $100 and labor/return shipping was $40
Fixed - Total cost $140.

I got a call from Jim McIntosh who lives on Lopez Island in the state of Washington (98261).
Somehow his son Jamie's 3rd Gen iPod Touch was put through the washing machine in mid-December 2009. They spent a day hoping that putting it in a bag of rice (as a desiccant) for a couple of days and that didn't do one positive thing except rob the iPod of potentially valuable time in getting it to someone like me.
But it arrived and I was able to get it all working again, except the LCD screen, which remained white with no data painting to it. Once the LCD was replaced I had it all working again perfectly and Jamie's files were all still safely on it. Notice the WiFi connection is working properly.
The LCD was $41 and labor/return shipping was $60.
Fixed - Total cost $101.
