Randy Hall called from San Angelo Texas (76904) to discuss his iPod that he dropped.
He has a 5th Gen video iPod and dropped it smack on the earbud plug damaging the jack it plugs into. We went through the send it in instructions and I followed up with an email outlining the same steps.
It arrived a few days later. This is a pretty common repair for me so it was finished the same day it arrived and sent back the next day. The part was $28 and labor/return shipping was $40
Fixed - Total cost $68.

Trisha Compton emailed me fron Charlotte North Carolina (28278)
about her 32GB iPod Touch 3rd gen. The message read:
"Frank,
Wow am I happy to discover you. My son was using my ipod and fell into a lake. I was able to put it in rice, however I can not see the screen very well. I have reviewed your website and will be sending my unit from North Carolina. I wanted to confirm the form of payment you prefer, and that the cost is $60.00 to start, that including the shipping back?
I look forward to having it fixed and using it again!!!
Many blessings to you,
Trisha"
I got back to her and it arrived just two days later. I went through it and was able to get it all working again but it did require replacing the LCD because I couldn't get the back light to work. This is one of the parts that fails with water immersion because the battery discharges through electrical arcing at the positive and negative LCD back light connections.
The part was $41 and labor/return shipping was $60 but this was still waaay cheaper than a new Touch.
Fixed - Total cost $101.
