Kelly Sheets, who works for "United Site Services" the company that is responsible for...
oh... toilet pumping at Burning Man (which I'm going to again this year). That company is also responsible for all the fencing, the toilets and showeres at the Coachella Music Festival (yes I go to that too. In fact Coachella is so much better because they have hot showers available for the campers... I mean have you ever been to Bonnaroo?).
Anyway Kelly lives here in Santa Rosa (95409) and called me about her iPhone. It had water exposure and the Home key stopped working. She has a 3G model and brought it by and left it off with $60 for me to go through it.
I had hoped for a better result... that there might have been just corrosion at Home key leaf springs and the repair would end at $60. In fact she had pushed the Home key button so many times that the switch had failed. This required replacing the mid-chassis/upper glass/digitizer assembly altogether and turned it into a $120 repair.
I wasn't certain she would move forward with it because her ATT contract had to be close to renewal. Infact it would cost $200 to move forward with the ATT solution so elected to have me go through the repair.
It works perfectly now, and cost $120 to get life tether back.
Fixed - Total cost $120.

Dean Wagner lives in Westerville Ohio (43081) and is a previous client,
and called me this time to discuss his 6th Gen video ipod's battery. I guided him through my battery overview and he realized he had over-charged it way too many times and sent it in that day.
This is straight forward repair for me and I do it the day itarrives so the ipod is back inthe clients hands before it's missed.
The total cost including labor/return shipping was $56
Fixed - Total cost $56.

Sam Zifferblat lives in Guerneville California (95446) is a previous client.
You may remember him as the fellow with pool cleaning business who along with his dropped a Palm Treo each into pools or tubs. more on that here;

In this case he dropped his 6th Gen video iPod into water. After a few days he got a hold of me and sent it through a friend to me for repair. I was able to get it all working again except the hard drive. This is a slightly pricy part but even so the repair was less than half a new one.
Fixed - Total cost $130.
