Jeff Border sent his Daughter's 32GB iPod Touch 3rd Gen in from Castro Valley (94546) California.
It had been dropped in water and wasn't working.
I think they were on vacation in Washington when it got here, the idea was to repair it and send it back to the Castro Valley address. I was able to get the Touch working again but it required replacing the LCd screen. Her battery was charged enough that when it hit the water, the battery discharged by shorting between the positive and negative connections on the LCD's backlight taking the backlight with it so you couldn't see the scree.
The LCD was $41 and labor/return shipping was $60
Fixed - Total cost $101.

Ed Sherman is a patent attorney here in Santa Rosa, California (95045).
He called early on a Thursday morning to set up a repair and arrived a few minutes later. He has a 2nd Gen iPod Mini from 2005 that needed a new battery. The device itself worked perfectly except the battery wouldn't hold a charge.
He left it off for an hour and I perfeormed the replacement. The labor charge was $40 and I gifted him the new battery. Anyone that wants to keep a working device running from that vintage deserves the enourage ment of free parts.
Fixed - Total cost $40.

Angelique Williams called me from Oakland California (94611).
She had a couple of things going. One was that her relative 5th Gen video iPod needed to have the headphone jack replaced. She actually took time from her real estate work to drive up and have me repair it while she used my iPad in my waiting area.
The repair took about an hour and was just $68
Fixed - Total cost $68.
