Earnest Wilson called me from Montclair New Jersey (07042).
He had two iPod Touch models. One was a 2nd Gen 32GB version that had water damage only until someone tried to repair it themselves and destroyed the upper glass/digitizer and the LCD. He felt it might be made to work if those parts were replaced. The other was a 1st Gen 16GB Touch model that hearing from the right side only.
He sent them both. The 2nd Gen was destroyed beyond repair. The 1st Gen I was able to de-solder the headphone jack from and then solder in a new one. Works perfectly again.
Total cost for the repair, was $84... that is $24 for the jack and $60 for the labor/solder work.
Fixed - Total cost $84.

Tristen Brenn's mom Celes sent me an email. They live in Portland Oregon (97201) The email read...
"Mr Walburg,
I bought my son an iTouch for his birthday in Jan. (he turned 9 and this is the first expensive thing he's asked for on his birthday). We were in Maui and no, I didn't drop it in sea water, I dropped it in the toilet. Since we were there and I didn't have reliable internet, I didn't find this site until after we returned. You've said on your site that time is the killer of the phone so my question is 'do you fix the board if it's destroyed'? I'd love to surprise my kid with his iTouch repaired (& for cheaper than buying a new one).
He literally cried when he found out what I had done (my kid doesn't cry especially when we were on vacation in Maui!) Anyway, thanks for your time and I eagerly await your response.
Celes Brenn"
It arrived several days because there was a delay in the mail routing it here. It took me three days to get through and make it work, but I got all aspects working again including the WiFi.
No additional parts were needed, it was just $60
On hearing I had it all working I got this message from Celes back,
"Thank you soooo much!!! You are the man!!
Fixed - Total cost $60.
