Patrick Otero called me from Stevens Point Wisconsin about his 16GB iPod Touch 2nd gen.
He had spilled Coca-Cola on it several days earlier and wanted to discuss the efficasy of making an attempt by me to bring it back to life.
Soft drinks with citric acid in them are one of 5 types of liquid material I manage for people this way and I sent him by email the same instructions I went over verbally with him.
The device got here with a letter a few days later and he used Paypal to send in the needed $60
One of the last questions people ask me while on the phone is always "How long will it take?". The answer is, if I get it working again immediately I will send it right back out. If it takes longer I tend to keep working at it until I have nothing left but to give up.
It took 8 days for me to get his Touch working again. But I got it all working again perfectly, including the WiFi connection.
Fixed - Total cost $60.
