Brenda Gluck sent me her Nano 5th Gen from Chicago Illinois (60659)
with a note that read,
"As you can see I am sending you my water damaged iPod with hopes that you will be able to save it. Please do what you can, thanks in advance."
In her case I had to replace the LCD screen, because the backlight in her LCD wouldn't come on leaving a dark screen.
The part was $35 and labor/return shipping was $40
A couple of days later she got her iPod back and sent me this quick email,
"I received the iPod today. Thank you, it works great!"
Fixed - Total cost $75.

Laura Lee Matlock called me from Fort Collins Colorado (80525) about her son's 2nd Gen 16GB iPod Touch.
He had spilled some liquid on it and now it wasn't working. When we concluded our conversation, I sent her by email.. instructions on how to send the iPod to me.
It arrived about 3 days later. Within the day I had it working again perfectly including the WiFi connectivity, the battery and the battery recharge circuits on the logic board... all perfect.
I had to replace the LCD. This was another case where the battery was quite charged at time of immersion and the backlight contacts were singed away from electrical arcing as the battery discharged.
The replacement LCD was $38 and labor/return shipping was $60
Fixed - Total cost $98.
