Matt Eisner lives here in Santa Rosa California (95405) and this case started with an email that read,
"I saw your listing on yelp and am interested in getting my 7th gen Ipod repaired. The unit won't charge or turn on, so I'm guessing the battery is fried on it. I live close by in Northwest Santa Rosa. Do you have a drop-box at your address to leave the unit for repair?
Thanks!
Matt"
I sent back information on how I work and that he was welcome to drop it off with $40 for me to got through it. If it needed parts, I'd be back in touch and we can settle up on parts when he picked it up. If was basically beyond repair or had too many things wrong with it, I'd notify him of that and he would get the iPod back with $20 of the $40 he left it off with.
He brought it by and the next day I had it working for him again with no additional parts needed. (Yes, I am the iPod Whisperer).
All of files were still on it and the total cost was just $40.
I got an email one night from Mario Rubio who lives here in Santa Rosa California (95407).
Sonoma County, where I live has a few interesting distinctions. We have some of the best wineries in the US because we grow some of the best grapes in the country. We also have the distinction of having what is acclaimed as the best beer made in the world produced here. There's a place here in Santa Rosa called the Russian River Brewing Company that produces an IPA called "Pliney the Younger" that slays the beer drinking community each year. It seems that on planet earth this is the most regarded beer produced and people travel here from all over to taste it during the 2 weeks it's available each year.
The beer advocate page is here:

I mention all of this because Mario runs a web site called "www.brewedforthought.com/" that covers craft beer and is lucky enough to live near where the best is made.
He got a hold of me to repair his White iPad2 with a smashed front screen. Here he is.... all happy with the repaired iPad.
Total cost, parts, tax, labor was $108
I got a call from Michael Salzman who lives here in Santa Rosa California (95401).
He had put his iPhone 4S through the washing machine and it went through most of the wash cycle before it was noticed missing. When he got it to me, it still had pourable water in it
Like many people who have to live without a phone for period of time, there is always anxiety. I always here the same questions. "Will I be able to get the phone to work again? will I be able to get the data off the phone?"
A few hours after dropping it off I had it all working again correctly.
There was still water trapped in the layers of plastic that made the screen "look bad" but that moisture will actually evaporate out leaving a good clean LCD again.
Notice the WiFi connection screen shows we have a good WiFi connection.
Total cost to get the phone back working again was $60
