This one also started with an email from Wendy DeSimone who lives in Copperopolis California (95228). I have to admit I had never heard of the place either, but discovered it's east of Sacramento. Her email red,
"I would like to send you my ipod touch 4g for screen repair. I would like to mail it to you tomorrow. I have a black screen, could we change it to white?"
I've actually done this.... switch the front from one color to another. Kids in High School like the distinctive look and think it's dope. I responded to her,
"Yes, but the Home Key button is Black and it remains with the device through the repair, so it would have a white screen and Black Home Key button. A very unique appearance that I've done several times and everyone thinks makes their iPod the sickest looking one around.
>> >> Other than shipping, what would the turn around time be.
This is a repair I do the day it arrives, so it won't be longer than a day and there are times when I can get done and back out later the afternoon it arrives."
The drop of her iPod didn't deform the metal backplate, not dents or bending that would require me to use a rotary grinder to re-fashion the metal to fit the new glass screen so this was going to look perfect afterward.
The total cost was $79 for the repair including shipping back.
