I got a call at a little before 9am on a Wednesday from Gary Plass.
He lives in Healdsburg California (95448) He is a wonderful guy that was once a Sonoma County Sheriff's Deputy and now has a real estate business and does Private Investigatory work as a side line. He had an iPad 2 with a smashed screen that needed to be replaced. He is also a councilman in the city of Healdsburg and relies on his iPad for correspondence and entertainment.
Before shots:
Unusual is the fact that each corner of the iPad had been hit as though the iPad had cartwheeled across a hard surface.
Because the corners were a bit mangled I had to trim down their edges with a small rotary grinder so the new piece of glass could fit and lay flat. The detail images show how the finished corners looked afterward. Let's look at each corner and how it turned out.

He dropped it by at 10:30 when I was finishing a laptop repair and picked it ready and looking new again at 12:30. I went to Cardinal Newman High and Gary new a number of the people I went to high school with since many came from St Johns in Healdsburg.
Total cost to get the iPad back looking like new was $108
