Zach Olds called by phone from Cape Canaveral, Florida.
He had broken his LCD screen and wanted it repaired.
I sent him the information on sending it in and it arrived a few days later.
I got it repaired and back out that day, leaving all of his music and video files intact on it.
Fixed - Total cost..$73.

I got a call from Tara Deily in Flat Rock, North Carolina.
She needed the battery replaced in her iPod Mini 2nd Gen and sent it later that same day.
It arrived on April 29th 2008 and I replaced the battery and sent it back out to her the same day.
The battery was $10 and labor/return shipping was $40.
I'm sure the entire round trip from North Carolina to California and back
again was just one week or less.
Fixed - Total cost $50.

Charles Fleming gave me a call from here in Santa Rosa, California.
He works at Agilent and has for many years. The problem with his iPod, a Nano 2nd Gen is the hearing went out on one side.
He dropped by, riding his bicycle on the way home from work. By complete co-incidence he was riding an Exeter bike which I actually imported in the mid-1980's when I owned the bicycle store, "The Pedal Pusher" here in Santa Rosa. At that time I was importing bikes through Rio Marui's "Marui Limited" export business which was the sole exporter of Shimano bicycle parts and fishing gear to the United States. Marui also handled the importation of Mitsuboshi tires and developed his own brand "Tioga". Besides selling bicycles to me he also was handling the export from Japan of bicycles being built for Specialized. (In fact Marui was uncomfortable enough with appearance of the artwork for the Exeter line that he presented it Mike Sinyard the owner of Specialized to make a determination of whether the artwork seemed "too specialized" like).
In order to make Charles iPod work meant replacing the outer housing and scroll wheel. The headphone jack had been damaged which is part of the scroll wheel assembly. The scroll wheel is epoxied into the Nano 2nd Gen shell, once removed you can never install the scroll wheel again and then put the logic board and battery into it afterward.
The shell/scroll wheel was $30 and labor was $40 so the
total was $70 to get his iPod back working again.
Fixed - Total cost..$70.
