David Kline of Montclair, New Jersey
put his nano 3rd gen through the washing machine. This is becoming more common as the size of iPods has shrunk and their utility has improved. He sent it to me with a a check for $40 to "work my magic" on it.

This actually occurred while he was on vacation and he sent it from Maine.

I was able to get all the parts of it working correctly including the battery and the "recharge the battery circuits".

Fixed - Total cost $40.

Susan Conrardy called from the Oakmont area of Santa Rosa, California
about her grandson's 5th Generation video iPod.

He is a skater and fell pretty hard. Though he didn't crack the LCD he destroyed the internal hard drive, which is too delicate frankly for that type of activity, ( a Nano would be a better choice).

She brought it to me on Thursday July 24th at 11:15am and I have the repaired ipod waiting for her an hour later.

The drive was $60 and the labor was $40.

Fixed - Total cost $100.

Tim Burke sent his iPod up from Laguna Nigel, California
a great place near the coast that I've visited a time or two. His iPod found it's way to water and took a dip ;) He sent it in with a check for $40 and crossed fingers hoping I would be able to make a difference.

I was able to get it all working except the hard drive and frankly it needed new battery too.

The battery was $23 and the drive was $60, with labor $40 so the total was $123

Fixed - Total cost $123.
